I left Rohrer und Klingner’s Salix iron gall ink in my Wing Sung 698 for 3 months, using infrequently, and the worst that happened was peeling of the “gold” plating on the nib and dyeing of the feed. Granted, these clear feeds due with any ink you put in them. No corrosion of the steel was found.
Your mileage may vary, but this ink seems pretty safe to me.
